L’oreal Paris Elvive: Extraordinary Oil

I’m not really one to try the latest fads or trends but when it comes to my hair I will try just about anything to keep it looking healthy and strong. I’ve been growing my hair since I was 18 years old sooooo that’s 5 years now and I’m really happy with its length. I have LITERALLY been doing everything I can to avoid “that healthy 6 month trim” to keep my hair long for this coming summer.

In desperation and my last attempt before I cut a few inches off my locks I tried the new L’oreal Paris Elvive. Mainly because I loved the packaging secondly because its something called Extraordinary Oil. These products are however best for dry hair so if you are prone to greasy hair maybe it’s best to look through their other products.

For me it worked wonders, it took me a while to get the amount right. If I added too much I pretty much come out the shower looking like Jonny Cash or John Travolta with slicked back hair and if I add too little well my dry hair frizzes but once I got the hang of the proper amount to use that worked best for my hair I fell in love with it.

PROS:

1. Well first the packaging, it’s stunning! Why I pulled it off the shelf in the first place. It makes me feel good owning something that looks so nice.

2. The actual product is gold. The hair mask and the conditioner are a gold colour and have these really cool gold flecks inside them.

3. It smells AMAZING. And the smell lingers for a couple days after you wash your hair.

CONS:

1. You might not like the way it smells. It’s a very strong almost heavy smell.

2. Finding the right amount your hair likes takes time so be prepared to give it a few test washes.

3. The hair oil doesn’t come in English. Ok this really frustrated me I went to a couple different grocery stores and couldn’t find it in English, that’s the product that looks like oil, I can’t tell you what it’s really for because the labels were printed in what I think is Arabic. Come on L’oreal you can do better than that.

USAGE:

Step 1. Run the oil through damp hair focusing on your tips. (I don’t use it on my scalp at all).

Step 2. Shampoo your hair, focus your attention on the scalp. (I often shampoo my hair twice).

Step 3. Conditioner and again I prefer to focus on my roots but not neglecting my scalp. I like to let it sit for about 1 - 2 minutes.

Step 4. Apply the mask. I generally apply much more to the tips of my hair and then tie my hair up for about 3-4 minutes.

I really love this product! It makes my hair look so healthy. Definitely worth the buy for me.

I would love to know what you thought of this post and the product if you have used it. 🙂 Thoughts, questions and comments are more than welcome.

Enjoy X
